Brushing and flossing your teeth should be the main priority when you want a healthy mouth. While it is commonly believed that you should brush your teeth twice daily with fluoride toothpaste for a wholesome smile, there is the only way to transform it into a healthy mouth is interdental cleaning.

Although toothbrushing is a useful way to maintain the cleanliness of your teeth, it only cleans 60% of the tooth’s surfaces. Interdental brushes clean in between your mouth gaps, which is the easiest and most important thing you can do to improve your smile’s health. To get a healthy smile, contact a dentist in Fort Walton Beach.

How to clean between teeth: Secret behind a truly healthy smile

Plaque can build up between your teeth which the toothbrush cannot reach. Over time, the teeth can get decayed, leading to gum inflammation and bad breath. Using an interdental brush in your daily routine is best to prevent this from happening.

Using an interdental brush daily with regular toothbrushing is a comfortable and effective way to keep your teeth and gums fresh and healthy.

An interdental brush is designed to clean the gaps between your teeth that an ordinary toothbrush cannot reach.

It is recommended to clean your teeth daily to keep your teeth healthy. When you start cleaning your teeth at first, you might bleed and feel a bit sore, but you should not quit because bleeding gums are mostly a symptom of gum inflammation. If you notice no improvement at all, contact your dental professional.

    Selecting the right size

Various sizes are available for interdental toothbrushes, and it is difficult to determine which is most suited for your mouth.

For best recommendations, ask your dentist. In the meantime, a few tips can get you started

    1. In front of the mirror, insert the brush in your teeth near the gums. Begin with the smallest size and brush until the bristles touch the teeth surface and the gum tissue.

    2. Interdental brushes must have a snug fit, whereas the plastic-coated wire should not touch the teeth’ sides or the gums.

    3. Move the interdental brush back and forward about 2-3 times when inserted. Ensure to clean all the teeth spaces daily.

    4. You will mostly need two-three additional sizes or a combination of one and two brushes–it all depends on the gaps between the teeth, which mainly vary throughout the mouth.
